Macro 4 VSE solutions support latest VSEⁿ operating system and middleware for IBM mainframes

Customers to benefit from new investment in the VSE platform

Crawley, UK, March 8, 2023 – Macro 4, a division of UNICOM Global, has released new versions of its VSE mainframe systems management solutions that support VSEⁿ V6.3, the latest VSE operating system available from 21st Century Software, and all associated middleware.

Macro 4 develops a range of productivity and modernization solutions for the VSE platform, including its Tubes session management software; VTAMPrint, for output management; VSAMTUNE, for VSAM disk and data management; VSAMLite, for automated VSAM data compression; Logout, for console management and DATABACK automated VSAM data backup.

The new software releases will enable Macro 4 customers to take full advantage of planned enhancements to the VSE operating system, as Michelle Harris, Head of Mainframe Research and Development at Macro 4, explained:

Macro 4’s new releases for VSEⁿ will maintain compatibility with previous versions of z/VSE and related middleware.

About VSEⁿ VSEⁿ is the rebranded version of the z/VSE mainframe operating system that is being maintained and enhanced by 21st Century Software following the company’s acquisition of the z/VSE source code license from IBM in 2021.
